Iranian state media are detailing that a helicopter conveying President Ebrahim Raisi and other high ranking representatives made a "hard landing" Sunday, with no prompt word on losses.

Raisi was returning from a visit to neighbouring Azerbaijan, where he had travelled to inaugurate a dam alongside the country’s President Ilham Aliyev, when the incident took place.


State-linked media said three helicopters were in the Iranian president’s convoy, and the two others made it back safely.


Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, East Azerbaijan Governor Malek Rahmati, and Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Ale-Hashem, the representative of the Iranian supreme leader to the province, were in the same helicopter as Raisi, state media reported.

Raisi was getting back from a visit to adjoining Azerbaijan, where he had made a trip to introduce a dam close by the country's Leader Ilham Aliyev, when the occurrence occurred.


State-connected media said three helicopters were in the Iranian president's guard, and the two others returned securely.


State media reported that Raisi was riding in the same helicopter as Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, East Azerbaijan Governor Malek Rahmati, and Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Ale-Hashem, the Iranian supreme leader's representative to the province.

Serve Ali Akbar Mehrabian and Lodging and Transportation Pastor Mehrdad Bazrpash were in different helicopters that returned securely.
