ORLANDO -- FIFA is concerned about the stormy weather forecast for Monday in Orlando, which could cause disruptions to Manchester City's Club World Cup matchup with Al Hilal. Due to a delay brought on by thunderstorms that were observed in the area of the Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, Saturday's match between Chelsea and Beneficial in the round of 16 lasted four hours and 39 minutes. Thunderstorms are also forecast in Orlando on Monday. At 9 p.m., City plays Al Hilal at the Camping World Cup Stadium. ET.

Adverse weather detected within an eight-mile radius of the venue would lead to players returning to the dressing rooms and fans being evacuated, in line with U.S. regulations.

So far six games at the Club World Cup have been suspended due to weather.

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca branded the situation as "a joke" after the game against Benefits was delayed by nearly two hours.

Pep Guardiola was asked about the weather at a news conference on Sunday, but was in a more philosophical mood than his counterpart.

"I am an extraordinary manager but to control lightning and thunder, still I am not good enough, I am sorry," he joked.

"I would like it [the game] done as soon as possible. But if it is not possible here it is the same reason as why they suspend the other one, I will go inside and we will continue to be active and play again.

"It's not the best situation, but I learned as a child not to worry about things I can't control. So no problem."

Chapter 1: When Storms Meet Glory

In the lead-up to the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup semifinal, meteorologists weren’t the only ones forecasting a storm. Because a sporting conflict was brewing between Al Hilal, the pride of Saudia Arabia and Asia's most decorated club, and Manchester City the juggernaut of European football, the metaphor was too perfect to ignore. The literal thunderclouds threatening to hover over the Yas Island Stadium in Abu Dhabi. The tournament, once dismissed as an obligation by European titans, had changed. It became a battleground for footballing empires thanks to global broadcasting rights, a larger fan base, and regional pride. This battle had it all. Narratives about oil money, brilliant strategy, cultural contrasts, and superstar collisions In this swirling vortex of football, one game carried implications far beyond 90 minutes.

Manchester City, helmed by the tactical mastermind Pep Guardiola, entered the competition not just as favorites — but as the embodiment of modern football’s apex possession, control, machine-like dominance. Their squad was a constellation of stars — Erling Haaland, Phil Foden, Bernardo Silva — and they hadn’t lost a knockout match in 18 months.

Al Hilal who weren't just passengers, stood on the other end. With names like Neymar (recently transferred), Sergej Milinković-Savić, and Salem Al -Dawsari, they had transformed from regional giants to global challengers. Their dominance in the Saudi Pro League, supercharged by the Kingdom's Vision 2030, gave them not just resources — but political and national weight

This was more than a semifinal. It  vs Asia Tradition vs ambition. Powerhouses born of industrial cities vs dynasties sculpted in desert sands.
